Those that feed ND only!

I have been looking at feeding nature diet wet food on its own without kibble but im baffled by the feeding guide! It says that a puppy of roughly 24kg (which is what im estimating pups weight would be fully grown) would need 1975g per day! Which is about 5 packs per day...is that right?? I really like the idea of feeding ND by its self as pup has a sensitive tum but 5 packs per day would be over my budget really

That doesn't sound right to me..... hold on, I'll have a look on the ND website and be back in a sec.

Henry has 1.5 packs per day and he is approx 15.5kg.

Off to have a look - back in a mo.

Re: Those that feed ND only!

First of all, the Puppy Feeding Guide is for pups up to around 8 months of age. You also need to feed to the weight that your pup is NOW and not his expected adult weight.

Once your pup is over 8 months of age, you can feed from the Adult feeding guide and I think for a dog of 24kg that was around 1000g if I remember correctly (so around 2.5 to 3 packs per day).

Hope this helps! Claire

PS. ND is a great food!!

If you have any other queries ND have a really good Helpline (Freephone number on the lid of the ND packs, I think, so you could always ring them and double-check amounts, etc).

Re: Those that feed ND only!

I used to feed Nature Diet on it's own.
And for a 30kg dog he'd have 2 trays a day.
I also think it depends on your dog.
NatureDiet would recommend that I feed my labrador more than what I did when I fed naturediet on it's own, but he did well on what I gave him and definitely didn't need the recommended amount of food, so I feed by eye, rather than exact recommendations

Re: Those that feed ND only!

I've went back to ND a few months ago. Really like it and great results (lovely small poohs). Was mingling in a few kibble meals a week but now we're on all ND.

As Claire (Henry) says, they have great customer service and answer emails/telephone calls quickly. Lots of info on their website too. | Naturediet Great customer support for a great food

Re: Those that feed ND only!

Both of mine are fed ND only.

Oscar, 13, 19kg, gets 1 pack a day.
Alfie, 12, 20kg, gets 1.5 packs a day.

The recommended for mine is 2 to 2.5 packs a day.

Re: Those that feed ND only!

I feed ND only to my 7 month yorkie chiahuahua x, she is 3kg and gets half a pack a day, but she is on normal ND not puppy.
Not meaning to high jack this thread, but where do you all buy it from? Im trying to look around for a deal on it... (i no its not too exspensive anyway when a pack lasts me 2 days but its always nice to find a cheap price)

Re: Those that feed ND only!

I get mine from PetzPlaza but lots here get their's from Berriewoods, PetPlanet, Vetuk, Monsterpetsupplies, Titmuss. Seems to average out about £38 if you buy 3 trays.

Have a google - lots come up. Usually the better prices are on bigger quantities. Mine little 8K terrier has a tray a day and I buy about a months supply at a time. PetzPlaza is local to me so I can go and collect however much I want when I need it
