Re: Connolly's Redmills Leader Puppy AnyGood?
Quote:
Having said that, if you feel that your pup is doing well on it, and it suits him, then why change. Anyone who has an opinion about foods has likely based it on their own experiences, and I've never fed kibble, just read up on it although not so much recently as I just don't have the time. ![]() |

Re: Connolly's Redmills Leader Puppy AnyGood?
Orijen puppy and adult foods are both about 40%, I've never had an issue feeding that to large breed dogs. Protein itself has no effect adverse effect on skeletal growth when eaten in excess. That is a myth. however, calcium and phoshorous will effect skeletal growth in excess and when insufficient. http://www.orijenpetfoods.co.uk/acat...reed_Study.pdf
The protein level of a dog food has does not directly reflect the amount of protein the dog will eat as the amount fed is also a factor - e.g. 200g of 20% protein and 100g of 40% protein will both yield the same total of 40g of protein. I feed about a third less in weight of Orijen than i did Royal Canin before that. |
