Newbie... Bichon pup won't eat

Hi everyone.
I need some help. We picked up our pedigre Bichon pup on sat at 9 1/2 weeks old. He settled well initially.
He was due to have his first jab on tuesday 3rd but we noticed a fle or two on him and as this treatment was included in the package with his first jab we asked to bring it forward by a day.
He had his first jab and a flea and worm treatment on Monday 3rd. He was very very sleepy after.
He has not touched any food in almost 24 hours now. Is this normall? It's thursday now and I'm a little worried. Is there anything I can do?
We are first time dog owners so any info would be great.
Thank you.

Probably feeling proper off with having jabs, flea & worming all in one go but if you are worried I would ring the vets and ask their advice

Re: Newbie... Bichon pup won't eat

I would be quite concerned if a puppy of only 9 weeks hadn't eaten for 24 hours as they need to eat often to keep their strength up. I would call/take him back to the vet. Hope he's ok

Re: Newbie... Bichon pup won't eat

You need at least speak to the vets or take him down there
A pup of that age and size not eating for 24 hours is a concern

It is normal for them to be quieter after jabs but not to that extent.

Have you kept pup on same food that he was on at the breeders?
When exactly did he last eat?
and lastly what is it that you are feeding him?

Re: Newbie... Bichon pup won't eat

Thanks so much for your replies.
He finally ate some at lunch.
But I think I have cracked it. When we saw the vet he said there was no need to soak his food anymore. (we were only doing it a little anyway)
But at dinner I soaked some for quite a while so it was very soft before giving it to him and he ate it all.
He is possibly teething? Gums are red.
I'm so so relived. Little thing has perked up no end.
Thanks again everyone.

No I wouldnt have thought he was teething at that age

I would continue to soak his food for him
makes it more palatable

Yes I suppose we didn't realise the degree of soaking it required. Specially as the vet told us not to bother anymore.
Just relived he is eating again.
Thank you for your kind words of advice though.
I'm new to this site and it has been a great help.
