Posting and dashing Tashi, but I'd suggest it's more accurately described as *early* onset PRA, as all indications are that dogs with the genetic status *affected* are usually very unlucky indeed if they actually go on to clinically develop the disease, within their life time. Although the late bit in this instance, may refer to the stage in life of the dog, not the likelihood of the disease developing, if that makes sense??
I haven't got direct experience, but do know of a couple of dogs that have developed gPRA and lived perfectly happy lives, one developed it very early indeed, around the age of four.
