Prize Choice in the co-op!

Just popped into the co-op for a few bits and noticed they have a new freezer full of Prize Choice bits - the big bags of various minces, some small blocks, bags of chicken wings and tripe.

Must say it looked a bit out of place - it was by the milk, no where near the pet food aisle, and the sign above - "the products in this freezer are not for human consumption - pet food only" did make me laugh, tripe mince lasagne anyone?!

But either way, great to see raw foods reaching a wider audience!

Anyone else spotted any in their local co-op? This was in the Stanway store in Colchester.

Don't think it'll be any of our local ones - but then I don't have a local co-op where I live Will ask my Mum if her local one has though - MiL's hasn't I popped in there the other day..

I wonder if it'll sell? Were they selling it for the same price as it is elsewhere?

I've got a feeling they won't be stocking it long personally, I don't think it'll be very popular which is a shame, but let's hope!

Didn't think to note the price, will have a look next time.

You never know - people might be thinking - hmmm.. until they see that you're not supposed to cook it.. then they'll get scared and run away..

Re: Prize Choice in the co-op!

Hubby wanted a fish supper for tea and since the chippy is next to the co-op I popped in and looked at prices!

Big bags of freeflow minces are £3.99, the little mince blocks are 79p and the bags of chicken wings (2kg) are £4.49.

Very expensive I thought, although not sure how it compares to Prize Choice from other stockists. Sadly I don't think it'll take off, especially considering boxes of Bakers are on a £2 special

Still think it's great they are selling them though!

I think that compares about right with the likes of pets at home

I hope that some dogs do benefit from it being for sale there
