Problems with feeding

My German sheperd pup is on royal canin junior for GS & my British bulldog has chappie dry as this is the only thing that doesn't upset her stomach. They seem to think at the minute it's a good idea to finish each others food if they get a chance. What is the difference in ingredients does anyone know between German shepherd pacific and bull dog pacific as steel vomited on the royalcanin bd but seems fine with the GS 1. The pup is not enjoying her puppy meat I don't think either any more she is almost 6 months old seems to prefer the adult meat both are fed on jwb wet, natures menu & natures diet. Would Sasha be ok with the adult mixed in when the pup meat runs out I only use it as a mixer with the biscuits she is not overly keen on her afternoon feed anymore would she be ok on 2 meals a day now she is just short of 6 months old.

I think you will find the main difference is regarding the shape of the kibble!

Breed specific foods are the USP of some manufacturers.

Why not separate them when feeding? I always do as I have two dogs that would fight over food, that way each dog can eat at a leisurely pace something that you want to encourage with a breed predisposed to bloat as GSD are.

I am a bit confused about the number of different foods you are giving them, why are you feeding so many?

They both have there dry food which is the royal canin and chappie then I mix there wet as if they have the same type even different flavours they have it for a couple of days then refuse to eat it just gives them some variety. 1 is fed in the hall and 1 in the kitchen but they sometimes manage to get into each others if the kids forget to close the door behind them when they are eating and Sasha likes to lick steels bowl clean then go back for remainder of hers. Neither of them rush with there food they are both very slow eaters.

Re: Problems with feeding

Well I'm overwhelmed by the replies. Thought you could come on here and get advice. No wonder I don't post on here very often. So clicky these days it's unreal.

Re: Problems with feeding

Wow. Your original post was yesterday? My appologies if we didn't all back flip to your thread. It's not like it's sat here for weeks unanswered. And with an attitude like that why would anyone want to help?

For the sake of the dogs, puppy food is a fad. Needless. As pointless as brew specific food. The pup will be fine with adult food.

I'm off back to my 'click' but if you need anything else, be sure to ring the little bell, we'll all come running ma'am.

Re: Problems with feeding

My reply would be research raw feeding and feed raw but that's not the reply you wanted is it ?

It often takes time for the right people to come online to post responses. You posted the question about two specific food mixes and the differences in ingredients. I personally don't have the ingredient lists at hand although I would imagine you probably do. If you want better/quicker answers a better way to approach the question would be to include the ingredient lists as part of it. That way we could look at the ingredient lists, combine it with the knowledge people have gained and attempt an answer. Posted that way even I could give you a more informed opinion and answer without even mentioning my personal preferences.

With replies like yours its a wonder anyone bothers to post. Just funny 40 odd people read it but only 1 reply. As I said when I first joined we used to actually talk to each other on here. Now most of those have left due to the clickiness and arrogance of members.

I can't feed Steel raw as it made her ill when she was tried on it.

I read and didnt post coz I thought why are you asking people what the difference in ingredients is from two foods you are already feeding??? Can you not read the packet yourself like??

I feed raw so am not gonna be much help in advising on complete rubbish.

Have tyou ever thought, your dog might have been ill on raw because you werent doing it correctly or perhaps because your dog started to de-tox??

Now, I will scoot back off to my 'click'

You were downright rude in your reply. Yes, it's a forum, so if people want to reply, they will, if they don't, they won't.

As said, you can always look at the ingredients on the packets to see the ingredients difference. If I posted a thread and 1040 looked and didn't reply I'd not dream of taking that attitude. If you think everyone is clicky and arrogant, why the hell do you want to post anyway? You haven't so much ad thanked anyone for the advice given so far.

Manners cost nothing. Funny how the rude ones get huffy when someone returns the favour.
