Spots/Lumps where Daisy was spayed

Hi,
Daisy is booked into the vets for this afternoon. However as always I wanted to post here as well to get a 2nd opinion and some advice from experienced dog owners.

About 3 weeks ago Daisy (2 year old bitch Lurcher) was spayed at the vets. After 2 weeks she went back to the vets for a check up (she had also damaged one of her dew claws so went in mainly for this). The vet checked her wound & scarring from the spaying and said it had all healed nicely, no problems.

However in the past wee or so she has been licking at the area quite a bit, it has now gone all red and 2-3 small lumps/spots have appeared along the length of the wound where she was spayed.

About 2 of the lumps (one at either end) are about half pea sized or slightly smaller.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Pete

Id say she har irritated the wound site and caused a small infection, I would put her back in a collar and go to the vets (which I know you was doing anyway)

Re: Spots/Lumps where Daisy was spayed

I'm sorry, forgot I posted this on here!! Daisy is okay now, the vet said probably just having a bit of a reaction to the stitches but nothing to worry about, over the next few days the lumps got smaller and eventually went away. She no longer fusses at the area and the redness has gone.

Daisy is now focussing all her efforts on eating our mail, shoes and CDs.
