Re: Raw food...a stupid question

thanks very much for your replies! I'll give that thread a look!

the thing that worries me is it says it may cause harm to a dog with underlying problems, well alfies had em all! camphlobactor and now giardia so his tummy seems quite a hostile enviroment, or a holiday home for bacteria!

Have you tried adding probiotic yoghurt to his food to boost his 'good bacteria'? Lex has all sorts of tummy problems and she gets probiotic yoghurt, it seems to kep her tummy stable.
Dogless and Blondie like this.

Re: Raw food...a stupid question

Don't worry. I think my list of worries when I started looking at raw was far longer

I do suggest you do the research so you can make an informed decision. We moved to raw to help an environmental allergy with one of our dogs. The reasoning... I believed feeding the correct food for a dog could help strengthen the immune system. I would now never willingly go back.

After research, you may decide it's not for you, that it would be dangerous for your dog. I don't think anyone could fault you for that having done the research.

Unfortunately I very much doubt if your vet would approve of raw as vets which do are few and far between (although the numbers are growing). This is also something to consider.

Well he either has a promax shot of good bacteria or a prokolin sachet in his food.

tummy troubles are the worst aren't they!
