good food = good health

I have a 2 year old blue staff, from day one he has had bad skin, chewed his paws. and upset stomach.
About 3-4 months ago a friend recommended putting him on a raw food diet, which i was very reluctant to do! However, i gave it a try and i haven't looked back!
In only a few months there has been a huge improvement to his skin, he has stopped chewing his paws and he has had no upset stomach since, He looks and seems alot healthier.

I would highly recommend this diet for any bread of dog as it is designed to give them the goodness thet they need with no addatives!

Steve.

I do appologise to anyone about putting names of seller! i have now removed this, i wasn't trying to give an advert, i've only just learnt about these forums, and was just trying to help as i was!

Re: good food = good health

There's plenty of people here who feed and recommend raw. There's also a massive raw sticky at the top of the forum.

Call me cynical but a new member signing up and singing the praises of a company in their first post, a post made simply to say how great raw is, screams advertising to me. There's a section for that, if you want to advertise your company, post there.

Re: good food = good health

To me, as a raw feeder this also seems to be a "disguised advert". If it's not the Original Poster (OP) may want to edit the company out and place it in the RAW food supplier list. thread.

My major concern however is that raw feeding isn't something to be taken on lightly. It is easy, it can be cheap but initial research is essential. To this end anyone interested should take a look at the Raw Feeding: everything you need to know! It's not enough to simply throw raw meat at your dog and expect it to remain healthy.

Most of us who feed raw love to see success stories like yours so you haven't offended Hopefully though you appreciate why/how it could have been taken as an advert and I commend you for removing the seller. Unfortunately if you'd posted more previously it wouldn't have looked like an advert. I for one look forward to your continued presence on this forum and hope you enjoy your stay. We are really a friendly bunch when you get down to it.

Out of interest.. as I'm incredibly nosy.. Do you feed BARF or more Prey Model? Did you follow any specific on-line guides to switch to raw and if so which one? Also we always need piccies of dogs.. not a rule but I am sure there's plenty of people who want to oo and ahh

As to benefits of raw I've recently read about a diabetic dog switched to raw who, after only 6 days had the following effects noticed:
Quote:
Here are the immediate perks of raw that I've noticed so far:

1. I've shaved 4 units off her insulin dose.
2. Her poos are really small now and are noticeably decaying within 24 hours. I'm sure they all are, but she's the only one I can efficiently monitor since she's an inside dog now.
3. She's not drinking water unless her sugars are high so this is a great tool to help me monitor her without having to check her blood.
4. After 4 days on raw she started growing her coat back where she was still bald 2 months after her hospitalization on kibble.
5. She's starting to fill in where she lost weight from the diabetes that she wasn't gaining back on her recommended kibble ration.
