I went into the nearest farm shop / meat supplier to our new house today and tentatively asked about bones, carcasses and all that good stuff......and the result was.....

Pet mince and liver at 50p / kg
Hearts, necks, legs, butchers scraps etc at 20p / kg
Bones and chicken carcasses for free

The butcher took my mobile number and every Friday he will ring and tell me what he has and I'll drive down (only 4 miles) and pick some stuff up .

I filled Kilo's freezer with liver, pet mince, chicken carcasses and butchers scraps (he didn't have much in apparently!!) plus filled a drawer of the 'human' freezer today with lovely meaty bones.....for about £4 .

I couldn't believe my luck and am still so excited - had to share on here as no one else really 'gets' it to the same extent .

I found a butcher that done vet mince the other day but that was £1 for 700 g so nowhere near as good value
