Information""OVERLOAD""

Iv read so much on high protein,low protein,grains,fats,carbohydrates,low fat,dry food,wet food,raw,vitamins,salmon oil,duck meal,fish meal,high fat,wet/dry,minerals,fresh meat,potato,bone,oils,copper,ETC ETC ETC

It annoys me so much, trying to decide what is reasonable concerning ingredients, and what they mean!

Does this annoy anyone, feel free to reply!

I wont feel alone if you do.

Re: Information""OVERLOAD""

You're right, it is information overload. I'm just concentrating on choosing the brand with the better meat content over something that starts the ingredient list saying contains "meat derivatives."

Re: Information""OVERLOAD""

I feed raw and have only properly researched that way of feeding and as I decide what they eat I find it pretty simple really BUT if I fed commercial I would be quite confused, even with all the information that's on here.

Re: Information""OVERLOAD""

It is confusing, and gets even more confusing when you inadvertently feed a cheaper food that some people would say "strike you down" even though you know it is the best food for your dog.

With a few exceptions (e.g. Bakers which very many wouldn't feed) whatever you feed you will always find someone that doesn't approve - basically you have to find what works best for your dog and try to rise above others opinions (can be difficult).

I am now feeding Simpsons Premium Salmon and Potato - which came highly recommended by a number of people - at the time, I was looking for an affordable rice and grain free food because I have coeliac and found I had an issue handling certain foods (when you have 7 dogs, this is pretty much unavoidable).

Simpsons Premium - Complete Dry Dog Food

I have to say the results have been nothing short of phenomenal for all of my gang - their coats are better - they are brighter eyed, more energy, much smaller poo volumes amd their coats are super

I do add raw egg and goats milk, oily fish and brown rice to their food probably roughly once a week, but have always done this (although the brown rice is a new addition) whatever food I feed them.

All you can do is listen to others and then work out what best suits your dog and your pocket, and sometimes, this can take a while.
