In the sulk or unwell?

Came through to the livingroom this morning and found Lennie had chewed his way through a pizza box and scattered it about like confetti.
Did give him a row for it and told him to go lie down.
He's refused his breakfast but drank plenty of water. Now very subdued and quiet, not his usual self, usually boisterous at this time of day. Not interested in favourite toys and just wants to lie and cuddle in. Nose isn't as cold and wet as it normally is.

Is he sulking or unwell?

Re: In the sulk or unwell?

Dogs do not sulk, but he is probably wondering what the hell all the fuss was about. It is no earthly use telling a dog off after the event; he doesn't have a clue what you are on about and he has now associated being scolded with your presence.

I would say he is upset, rather than sulking. Is he ok with other people? Keep an eye on him, of course, but most dogs will do this sort of thing if they are told off, especially when they don't know what they have done.

Re: In the sulk or unwell?

I didn't go to town on him, he was in the middle of the mess tearing more up when i caught him, so gave him a row there and then when he was caught in the act because it was appropriate to what he was doing at the time.

Re: In the sulk or unwell?

Good, I misunderstood. However, I would have simply taken the shreds away and said no. Don't think he is sulking, dogs do not do that. If my dogs have ever been told off they will go off giving me the eye for a while, and I think this is probably all it is.

No im not mad at him, the pizza box was actually well out the way on the kitchen bunker so he had to climb up to get it.

Had you considered doing the jigsaw puzzle to see if there are bit's missing, presumed eaten?

Consider looking at the ownership of kitchen areas to address his food theft.
