Yup, my mum e-mailed them for some cat fod samples and she got 1 of each type of food they have for cats. I think seeing as it's just the one specific food you want to try phoning would be better

Re: CSJ dog food?

Forgive me for saying it, but I just can't understand why people rate CSJ so highly?! I've looked at several of the ones on their website and nearly all of them contain wheat, maize or both - even the ''premium'' hypoallergenic ones have maize in, although it's listed as corn. Also, the meat in most of them is fresh meat, rather than meal which means once the moisture content has been taken away (which obviously you need to do for dry food), you're left with something stupid like 3% actual meat in the food, not the 20 odd percent listed, and some don't even have the percentage of meat listed.

I dunno, maybe I'm missing something but it looks pretty low grade stuff. But then again, for the price, you can't expect much more.

Re: CSJ dog food?

I've had very mixed feedback on it - some said it was just fantastic - best they've ever used and others - well - felt so negatively about it they wouldn't put their thoughts on a public forum I guess it's like any food though - I know loads of people who swear by JWB - with my gang, it's one of the few foods which has gone straight through them and / or made them put on weight faster than I can blink.

I have just switched mine over to Simpsons Premium Grain Free Salmon and Potato - it's passed the taste and poo tests - just have to see how they do on it now long term - having coeliac myself, I found grain based foods irritate my eczema - and have been looking for a long time for a suitable and affordable alternative with 5 to feed (My eldest girl is on Iams Senior and my next one down on Burns High Oats - and are both thriving).

Will be interested to know how it goes though - but anyone who is looking for good alternatives with high quality meat products are a reasonable price - Simpsons Premium is definitely worth trying - it's competitively priced anyway - even moreso if you are eligible for their breeder scheme

Re: CSJ dog food?

I like CSJ as out of all the foods Tummels had this one has had him in the best condition. I know it's not amazing compared to the likes of orijen/acana etc but Tummel looks fantastic and loves it. Also i'm currently looking for a job which means money is tight but at £11.50 a bag for the food i get i can guarentee Tummel gets fed each month(when i get a job i will be looking at foods like AG and skinners) and is fed a decent food which is the most important thing.
