My puppy is poorly
Hi, I am new on this forum, but i am really worried about my puppy. He is 5 months old and has recently been really loose with his poo's. He is fine in his self and is eating and drinking fine and happy to play and go for walks. Yet he is quite loose. Today he had a poo an it was solid, took him for a walk where he went 3 or times each time it was getting looser and looser until it was very watery.
Is this something that happens. Spoke to the vet and he said fast him for 24 hours!! PLease help |

Re: My puppy is poorly
Hi, Sorry to hear about this. There are some supplements available from good pet shops/website which help aid digestion. These may help.
If the pup is a small breed the presence of watery stool apparently is particularly concerning (As small breeds do not hold much water) so keep a close eye anyway and you can always go back to the vet if the advice given in previous posts does not work. Hope this helps. |

Re: My puppy is poorly
It's good advice not to panic - some dogs have tender digestive systems. But it could also be your dog's food is not agreeing with him or it has something he's allergic to.
Lamb and rice foods can be gentle on the stomach and are often suggested for allergic dogs. Also - be sure your dog isn't getting into foods that could cause problems. See the following article for more information: Dangerous Foods - Surprising foods that can harm your dog

Re: My puppy is poorly
Can be a number of things his diet, worms or a general jippy tum. As vet suggested leave him off for for 24 hrs and then try him on small bland diet chicken and rice or white fish is also good and scrammbled egg as its binding then gradually get him back to his normal diet. If this returns your know his food is not suitable for him. If hes still bad in a day or two take him in to be checked over as they can dehydrate .
