Lick Granola.

My 9 year old Goldie has Lick Granola. He had this about 4 years ago.Vet gives a gel to put on it and the dog licks it straight off.He is now wearing a collar which he has been wearing since Sunday. Took it off last night and he went straight to his leg and started licking.Collar back on again. He makes the leg bleed with the constant licking. There has been no change to his diet.Desperate for advice.

Re: Lick Granola.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this and not sure what to suggest.
However, I have used Bionic Biotics from Pooch and Mutt Probiotic for Dogs | Bionic Biotic | Dog Health Supplement | Pooch and Mutt and found it excellent. I used it for it's tummy properties but if you look at their testimonials, it has helped numerous dogs with skin complaints. "Guy" is v helpful and I'm sure if you emailed him he would tell you if it may help your dog.

Apart from that Yumega Plus has some v good write ups but I've not used it.

Hopefully someone will be along in a mo to be more helpful

Re: Lick Granola.

one of mine had a hot spot and fuciderm cleared it up really quickly, i kept her elizabethan collar on for a while to stop her licking it off, (you can get comfy collars which are much nicer for the dog)http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&k...l_4l1nixsh18_e

Fuciderm | Fuciderm Gel | Fuciderm for Dogs | Fuciderm Cream | Fuciderm Ointment

Re: Lick Granola.

Can I ask what you are feeding? There could be somthing in there irritating him.

I ask because my cat over grooms something terrible, been on steroids and countless anti biotics for cuts he's caused himself. After almost two years back and forth to the vets it turned out to be food related.

Re: Lick Granola.

Vet said 1 a day would be OK, he has had 1 a day since he was about 1 year old,so I wouldn't think that will be causing it.
