I will check the packaging later but it was one of their mutlipacks which I purchased only a couple of months ago!

I never had the issue with bad packs when it was first apparent, so hence I'd gone back to it now thinking it was ok!

It was the famous chicken and veg one too which was one of the gremlins before I believe

As to cooking process for Terra Cannis it states:

The gentle cooking process (cold filling & low cooking temperature) ensures that the high class natural vitamins, secondary plant material, minerals/ trace elements, and proteins are preserved to an extremely high degree.

For the Hermanns it states:

Herrmanns Dog Food is especially gently made so that the full vitamin and mineral content remains - the entire production is approved by German organic certifier Biokreis.

Lukulus state

All ingredients are freshly processed in a gentle cooking process

Rocco state

The especially gentle cooking process preserves Rocco's healthy nutrients and strong meat flavour. Rocco wet food is both gluten and wheat-free.

Does anyone know if steamed or cold\low temp is better ?
I'm really not sure. When Heidi had probs with ND recently, I emailed them asking for any suggestions to help. She used to be fine on it and ate box loads of the stuff.

They replied "We would suggest persisting with the change over and due to the way we produce our food, some dogs can experience soft, mucus covered stools. As long as the dog does not experience watery, constant diarrhoea, hopefully the soft stools will pass"

She adapted back to a combination of WW and Rocco much better so I have kept with that for the time being.

ND is obviously different. I would have thought steaming is better as it's sterilised raw. I would like to have it in Heidi's menu and will try again once I've used up my reserves.

Sorry, not much help rolleyes:

Re: Another wet food option

we had a couple of minging packs at work the other week. proper stinking. but it was only a few. the rest in the batch were absolutely fine. in all my time dealing with ND, which is a few years now, iv only had minging ones very rarely tbh.

I don't think it's right in the 21st century that these issues can't be addressed People would not expcect to buy human products eg yoghourt that were rancid

If a humans food eg muller were getting reports of rancid products they would likely get a kicking from the likes of watchdog Or even worse a kicking from the Fsa

What would concern me if i fed the food was the packet that smealt ok but had some iffy bacteria/organism that made my dog sick

Ok if they had a one off problem is one thing but to still be churning out crap is incompetent and to still be knocking out dodgy packets is woefull and bordering on negligent

I don't think it's a bad food but given the ongoing f@ckups I wouldn't fancy playing Russian roulette with my dogs life/health

Dont they shut down for a bit over summer hols? Probably mean more "Friday afternoon packs"

Hi Claire
Going down well i orderd 6 x chicken and 6 lamb i only use them when his lordships in one of his funny moods at breakfast and i can tell he wont eat the "superior" hermmns\TC\Lillys gourmet ....

.although it may well be down to some of the fancy extras (like Spirulina courgettes, celery etc )they put in and he fancys summat blander for breaky

I think its a bloody good food for £1 a can and 70 % meat.....the chicken one smells like roast chicken

I might try the tripe one at some point.....

Does Henry have Partners ?

Yep, he does - he has all 3 flavours and definitely loves the tripe! Think it's excellent food.

im not saying they shouldnt address the problem, was just saying iv not had that many blown packs. and any we have ever had, have been swapped without fuss. and sometimes its not neccesarily the packs that are to blame. maybe the food was left out in heat/wet conditions?

as i say, i wasnt defending them as such. just giving my own experience
