Activity Level Study in Labrador Retrievers and Cocker Spaniels

WANTED -Labs and Cockers to participate in a research study run by two students at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School

Until 5th September 2011, I am running a project looking into how weight, body shape, age, sex, and neuter status affects the activity levels of a common large and small breed dog.

The dogs must be over one year of age and not currently on any medications.

Participants in the study would have to meet at the Small animal hospital to have the dog weighed and body condition scored, and get a small device that measures activity fitted to their collar.

The device, an accelerometer, is the size of a small matchbox and must be worn 24 hours a day for 7 days. The device would then need to be collected, along with a competed questionnaire so data could be downloaded.

If anybody in the Glasgow area is interested, or would like some more information, please send an e-mail to 0806980u@student.gla.ac.uk

Thank you
