Re: Biscuits

You can use sardines to replace the liver in liver cake too.

I use chicken livers in mine.
Flop the livers in the liquidiser with a couple of garlic cloves and an egg (shell as well for calcium if you fancy). Blitz it down and pour into bowl. Add equal amount of flour as livers, mix, pour into shallow dish and bake.
There are loads of variations but you really cant go wrong. SR flour makes a softer treat, Plain - a bit harder. Once you've made the first one, you will know how you want to tweak it for next time.

I slice mine into fingers and freeze the bulk.
Doesnt crumble, quite rubbery so ideal to take out on walks

Re: Biscuits

mum2heidi: I like your way of cooking no exact measures I like make it up as I go along cooking. My oh not so much.

And the peanut butter goodness treats are a hit!!!! He stood staring at the microwave while I cooked them.
I'm off shopping for liver in the morning to try the liver cake. We'll have to see how that goes. I'm only making small batches to see if he likes things first though.
Indi's uncle jack doesn't need any more excess calories. (he's not too fat but he is a kilo over his ideal)

Re: Biscuits

Tip for liver cake, if you leave it out of the fridge for about 2 - 3 days it goes unbelievably SMELLY. Which makes the dogs love 'em more

Re: Biscuits

It might go yukky in about 6 days or so, but will still definately be ediable after a day or two

Try him with a piece out of the fridge and leave a few cubes on the side, try to see which one he'd eat first

Re: Biscuits

I'm off to get liver in the morning and some more ingredients. Bit weirded out having to buy baby food. but I'm not spending however long it takes to puree carrots on my day off.
