Loving raw food

I am absolutely loving watching Sam eat his dinner since I changed over to raw a couple of days ago. It is the first time since we got him 3 months ago that I have seen him lick his bowl clean at every meal, and look like he is 'really really' enjoying it, and not just crunching on some brown biscuits 'cos thats all their is' Honstly he never has shown such enjoyment in his food!!

I shall be watching out for todays poo as the past two days they have changed colour but have been a little bit softer then normal(TMI I know lol)

Anyway just thought I would share

ps has anyone got any idea on treats, or chews for teething. Usually give him pigs ear type stuff, is that still ok on a raw diet??

Thanks

Tracy & Sam

Re: Loving raw food

The pigs ears you buy from shops are often deep fried or roast in a lot of fat, I don't give them as they're not that healthy.

Frozen carrots are good, chop them into about 10cm long portions, and just pop in the freezer. Also, frozen kongs, or even just frozen flavoured ice blocks for outside.

Re: Loving raw food

I give ours sea jerky fish twists as treats from fish4dogs. they are basically dried fish skins all twisted together.... very smelly but apparently delicious!!

They also get dried beef jerky and raw carrots.

Re: Loving raw food

Thanks everyone I bought some chicken livers, froze some and cooked the rest up to use as treats. Will also take a look at some of the other stuff suggested

Re: Loving raw food

It's fab isn't it seeing them enjoy what they are eating, I always felt so bad giving prince wet and dry everyday, it must have been so boring for him, and he wasn't fussed at all with it, now he loves meal times!
I'm waiting on some pizzle sticks coming. Tripe sticks were a big winner with Prince but the smell rules them out big time! I got him some venison sticks that look exactly like the tripe sticks but don't stink, but he wasn't fussed, there's no pulling the wool over his eyes!

Re: Loving raw food

ha ha the tripe sticks in this house are kept in a sealed container to keep the smell at bay but they love them
