I did go through a similar thing with Nanuq my youngest, i was convinced her hips were dodgy and she had a paculiar rear gait too, at 9mths the vets watched her walk and examined her, On walking they shared my concerns, on physical exam there was nothing glaringly obvious. I had her X rayed when she was spayed at a year and her hips are fine. So try not to think the worst yet.
X rays are the only way, and if she has got luxating patellas which there is varying degrees of anyway, maybe thats making it appear there is a hip problem too.
thank you the fit said it may just be that we cant say to she had a x ray and they x ray may not show anything up so will have to see , i suppose as long as she happy i am too and will do no matter what to make sure may baby girl happy and gets what ever she needs xx

Re: i just want to cry

Chin up girl and try not to think the worst as you may be worrying for nothing. See what the x rays show and then decide. If she does have HD it can often be managed wth anti inflams and hydrotherapy, i know of some Mals with HD who lived long and happy lives like this
Flynn below had severe HD and now has two new hips and can enjoy life as a three year old should

Keep us posted and enjoy your break, your girl will not get any worse in a few days
