Raw meat chunks

I always cut chunks or mince it for the dogs but wonder if its necessary? What does everyone else do?

Re: Raw meat chunks

I don't do mince at all I only halve or quarter things like heart and tongue as a whole one would be far too much for my dogs other wise its directly as it comes. I do feel that chewing on things like tongue and heart, rather than them gulping down chunks, it helps keep the gums and teeth clean and from more recent reading I have found that its better for the stomach to actually gave something to do

Re: Raw meat chunks

I cut into chunks as Prince likes to swallow whole! See what kind of eater your dog is and if he takes it easy with meat then you don't need to chop xox

Re: Raw meat chunks

Obviously not all at once, but that's pretty much the type of chicken and lamb bones my two get, I don't feed any mince or big chunks of flesh
mumof6, kat&molly and pogo like this.

Re: Raw meat chunks

Thanks. SL mine have that sort of thing as well, and Tripe. Plus Beef in chunks quite regular, I have to import and it saves some money.
Even the Tripe comes in huge pieces, if I haven't organised myself properly then cutting that up fist thing in the morning makes me want to retch.
