Hi, I have a staffie x bitch who suffers from skin allergies which mainly affects her ears and feet. It is worse in summer because its all grass related etc.

Anyway, she is fed on chappie which we have never had any problems with at all, but my sister started feeding her dogs on the raw diet a while ago and after picking her brains for ages I decided to change Lexie over to raw diet. I first bought the frozen prize choice minces from the pet shop, but after 2 days her ear started drooping again, a sure sign of her getting an ear infection. Could this be to do with changing her diet? My sister thinks its just a pure coincidence because she said raw feeding is supposed to be better for allergy suffering dogs.

I'm confused. do I go back to chappie or stick with raw and put it down to coincidence?

raw is supposed to be better for allergys, but i would think thats not 100% failsafe, stick with it for a while, and see if it reoccurs after the ear has been treated.

should have said with the raw that their bodies go through a bit of a detox when they first go on it, so that could cause a flare up i suppose, bit like us if we detox, we feel worse for a while before things improve.
