Question Need Help!

I noticed a spot in the front of my 9 year old German Shepard's elbow that almost looks like black dots just under her skin and it is bald. I can't get into the vet for a bit. I have Baxedin that I have been using to clean it, but I was wondering if using Fucidin cream would be an appropriate topical ointment and possibly maybe help? It doesn't seem to be itchy for her or anything...any ideas?

Re: Need Help!

Are they definately under her skin? I know when dogs have fleas they get little dots on their skin, which is actually flea poo. If you rub with a wet paper towel donthey come off? Maybe the hair loss is due to her scratching. A vet would be able to confirm diagnoses, and maybe do a skin scraping to see if it's another parasite. Does the area look sore at all?

Re: Need Help!

If it doesn't go in a few days, I wouldn't put off seeing the vet.
My last dog had something similar and it was skin cancer.
Are the spots raised?
