Red belly

Hiya...
I was visiting vet very often in the last few weeks due to problems with my dogs Thyroid.
Vet also spotted that my dog has a red belly, and gave us Piriton and Cephorum tablets.
After a week she stopped scratching and her belly went back to a normal colour.
But now after 2/3 weeks she started scratching and her belly is red again.

What can cause this??
Should I change the food?

She's eating Butcher's Cans at the moment.

Re: Red belly

Yes change her food!!!

Butchers is about as bad as it gets and it's very possible that this might be at least part of the problem! It's got loads of cereals and nasties in it which she could be reacting to.

Good foods have meat as the first ingredient and little or no cereals. They don't have to cost the earth either, because you'll usually feed less of a good food than a rubbish one because it has more nutrition in it.

If you want to stick with wet food you could look at Wainwrights, NatureDiet, Nature Menu or Natures Harvest. Good dry foods are Wainwrights, Fish4Dogs, James WellBeloved, Skinners, Burns, Arden Grange, Acana, Orijin. Or you could try feeding raw.

I don't have any advice on the medical side of things but think changing her food is a very good place to start.
