Talking I am going to move!

Not really, but Edgeware High Street has the most fabulous selection of butchers and ethnic shops. I love it! I went to look at a car and got distracted by the Irish Family butcher who sell

chicken wings,
legs (swear to God, the chickens must be twice the size of normal ones!)
Pig's whole or half head
Pig's brain
Pig's trotters
Pig tails/ears

Me and the OH were running from shop to shop in a bit of a frenzy and ended up in the fishmonger-gigantic trout heads for 50p! They also sell whole catfish, which is a swine to find in this country and the OH loves. Zak took about 20 minutes with the fish head, he just didn't know what to do with it! Bear just settled down and chewed through it efficiently, bless him.

Sorry, got very hyper afterwards and couldn't stop raving about this for hours afterwards, I am going back on my next free day!

Can't remember for the ears, but the trotters were £4 for four (lots cheaper in Morrisons, £1.11 for two). The chicken legs and wings were £2 a kilo and the pig's head was £2.50 a kilo.

I was surprised at how expensive some stuff was: it's not what you see in a mainstream supermarket and not what the majority of people would buy. I don't understand who would buy pig brains!

Ive eaten sheeps brain soup, its disgusting dont ever try it

Good old morrisons cheaper on the trotters, I must get some next week. Shyed away from them for awhile as gave Willow the ahem trots But as I didnt get any RMB this month (dont know what happened there) I need to add some meat variety.

I work in an ethnically diverse town, I should pluck up the courage to go in the butchers next door, they have allsorts advertised in there, including python !!!

I know!!! Off the top of my head they currently offer
Kudu
Bison
Python
Zebra
Ostrich
Fox
and more
last week they had lion in, which I dont even want to think about, I thought they were endangered.

I'd love to know if Asda did have a sharks head, that would have been a strange sight.

Re: I am going to move!

Zebra?! Too close to horse for my liking! Sadly, my exotic stuff (fish heads, pig head, chicken leg) has engendered a floor covered in dioarreah this morning. The OH got me out of bed on the last day of half term to help scoop up the sick and poo: I'm thrilled! I think tonight's tea will be back to basics: chicken wings and tripe.
