Unhappy Millie's change in behaviour

No idea what's wrong with Millie but her whole behaviour has changed. She doesn't want to be touched, has snapped (quite viciously I may add) several times at me and has been really agressive towards Mooky (although fine with Buster...she's snuggled up with him most of the weekend)

It started Sunday night when she snapped at me and grabbed my arm when I reached for the remote while she was asleep, then while I was cleaning an accident Mooky had and a few times yesterday and this morning.

Millie is normally 'possessive' and we are working on that but every hour or so we've had to pull her off Mooky.

She doesn't seem her usual self and is quiet, not very playful and snappy with anyone who goes near her

It's gone on too long now so I'm taking her to the vet today but with no visible signs of illness (sickness, loose/unusual stools etc, gums normal, ears look/smell normal, normal temp, eating and drinking normally) not sure what we are dealing with

She's been snarling, snapping and lunging at all of us but the only one she has not snapped at is Buster...she's spent all weekend cuddled up to him and has snapped if we dare go near him

Hoping she will be OK, if she's healthy then we have some behavioural issues that need addressing

Re: Millie's change in behaviour

Really sorry to hear Millie isnt herself and seems to feel it's everyone's fault except Buster (lucky chap).

Hope it's nothing serious and the vet can put your mind at rest.

I know Mookey is a new dog your looking after, could it be due to the change of her little pack structure ??

Fingers crossed it is nothing serious and easily resolved

my first thought was the fact mooky arrived recently... Although it has been moreso the last 48 hours

After i got into work this morning hubby called to tell me he found a tiny but round lump on her back at the left above her pelvis. He Saudi is about 1cm in size and hard... But she's let him touch it... Although not sure that would cause the Probs we've had last couple of days?

Poor girl she's so tough and nothing bothers her normally so i feel a but sorry for her.

Re: Millie's change in behaviour

Dogs can and will snap as a pain response and if its pretty sudden then could well be a likely candidate, they can also be snappy if they are stressed too,
so it could even be a combination of the too. They can even re-direct aggression onto certain things, So you and Mooky could be copping the fall out.

Re: Millie's change in behaviour

I'm sorry to hear that Millie is acting odd. I hope it's easily sorted for you x

Just a thought - have you also checked over Buster?
If Millie has possession issues maybe she's trying to posses/protect Buster for some reason?
