Re: wagg

To be blunt, it's an absolutely awful food.

Skinners duck and rice, or the salmon and rice is about £19 per 15kg sack and is worlds better. A dog of 20kg needs 400g of wagg, and only 200g of Skinners. So it works out cheaper in the long run.

Re: wagg

I tried my dog on it once when i couldnt get her usual food. It gave her itchy skin, her tummy didnt like it and she had the most awful smelling wind. I ended up giving the bag 3/4 full to another dog owner who fed it to her dogs and luckily found another supplier for the usual food which is Skinners duck and rice. Can't beat it for my dog. Her skin was back to normal by the end of the week and her tummy was happy again.

TBH its crap,my elderly parents fed "with no added real meats, nothing"this to their golden retriever all of its short life of 7 years, towards the end of its demise it had lumps on its body etc,and it was never the happiest looking dog, such a shame it went so early, may be diet related"most probably"!

If i were you"on a tight budget"i would go for skinners duck+rice or salmon+rice, far better than WAGG!

Skinners Field and Trial Duck and Rice Dog Food 15Kg - £19.36

Very reasonably priced, and you could always add some cooked chicken, sardines etc!
Your sisters wee friend will"or should be so much happier and healthier"!
Good luck"get off the crappy wagg"!

Re: wagg

I agree with the others.... Wagg is not good, artificial additives and virtually no meat. I second the recommendations for Skinners Duck and Rice or Salmon and Rice for good value foods.

Re: wagg

Totally agree with others - Wagg isn't good. Pretty much anything that is advertised on TV or sold in supermarkets is rubbish.

Skinners is much better and the RDA is v low so your friend would probably be saving money in the long run purely by feeding less. So if Skinners looks more expensive per bag, do compare the size of the bags and the amount to feed. It can make a big difference to your pocket.

Re: wagg

As everyone else said - Wagg is absolute rubbish!

For some reason everyone who has replied so far has recommended Skinners which is a good food but thought you might like some other options too! They're of varying prices due to meat content - basically the more meat, the better the food and (generally) the more it is going to cost, although like others said, the less you will feed.

Some other foods you might want to look at: Wainwrights (available from Pets at Home, probably my top pick for good middle-of-the-road food), Burns, Fish4Dogs, CSJ, James WellBeloved, Arden Grange. If you're interested in wet food you would want to look at Wainwrights again, NatureDiet, Natures Harvest, Natures Menu. As everyone else said, stay away from supermarket food.

Good luck
