wondering if anyone has advice about this. i've got a 5 yr old spayed shih tzu bitch (a rescue we've had 5 months now, spayed just before we got her), who has just in the last few hours begun to bleed after urination. she's urinating more than usual, and has done it twice in the house despite being fully trained to go outside for months now. afterwards there is always a few drops of blood. she doesn't seem particularly uncomfortable, she's still eating well, happy to go for walks etc.

any ideas? from googling the best i can surmise is that it's either a tract infection or a rare case of spotting despite being spayed.

any help appreciated. we'll be down at the vets tomorrow regardless i imagine.

I'd say it's a very bad case of UTI and should be seen by the vet immediately.
Take a wee sample with you
If left it could cause problems with the kidneys

Yep definitely sounds like a UTI. Get her to the vet asap as having this is really uncomfortable 'down there' .
