Question Natural Dog Food

I have been feeding my Jack Russels since they were puppies on cooked meats (turkey, chicken, beef, lamb - no pork or ham) and fish (tuna coley) mixed with raw carrot, onion and garlic, sometimes some fruit such dried apricot, and white or brown rice. My dogs are healthy, wet nosed and very very active and strong (they are 18-months old) and now I am told that onion, garlic and the fruit is poison to the dogs.

I am constantly being recommended dried food and I do feed them Bakers as a mixer or if I have nothing better to hand but I do not consider dried food a proper diet (Soylent Green syndrome).

I am totally confused. Dogs must be able to eat natural food. Does anybody have a nutrition list I can use.

Tonight though, I shall play safe and feed them their favourite: chicken dupiaza with pilau rice and a kashmari nan.

Dan

Why not try them with a kebab, just for a change?

Re: Natural Dog Food

I only feed them kebabs when we've been to the pub. Love chillies (true)

Do they wash it down with a pint of stella or do they prefer wine?

Re: Natural Dog Food

Raw meet, particularly the chicken, made them loose and their poo was slimy.

Re: Natural Dog Food

I will feed bone (never thought of that) but I am very unsure about vegetables. They eat all the carrots and onion (if cut very small). I have been told brocolli is harmful.
