toe infection causing lameness?

hi, i have mentioned that my dog has been limping, well tonight when we were out his leg went really weird, as if it had come out of the socket, but he didn't cry out or anything and carried on walking and it righted itself. so when we got home we had a feel and found a very small tick between one of his toes. this has been removed sucessfully and i have been reading that toe infections can cause lameness.have put some savalon liquid on it which he was uncomfortable with and will ring the vets tomorrow. has anyone else had limping due to a toe infection? thanks

Re: toe infection causing lameness?

Sorry Sleeptalker missed this one, yes it definately would cause lameness, I see you are going to ring the vets and I would get it checked out just incase there is any infection in there as you dont know how long the tic was there.

Good luck with him.

thanks tashi, the tick was small so don't think it was there long but will let you know what the vet says.
