I hope you can offer some advise please - Its quite hard to describe but I will do my best!

My sister homed a dog last year from Battersea, a male cross terrier, who had already been neutered. The 'issue' is quite often his penis keeps coming out and by out I mean the WHOLE thing and more and it looks so uncomfortable for him! My boy dog, also neutered, sometimes displays his but it is normally and inch or so and it soon goes back whereas with my sisters dog he can hardly walk and it take about 15 mins for it to go back. My sister has mentioned it to the vet and also rang Battersea but they both said it was natural. I just wondered if anyone else has had the same experience or know anyone else with a dog the same.

As you have already consulted with the vet and battersea I would say that it is normal to an extent.
I do remember it happening with my old neutered boy a couple of times.

I've just spoke to someone who has had a fair few males and although normal, 15 minutes is a long time he say's try puting something cold (wet flannel) or something on it. Obviously don't distress the dog but its worth a go

The length of time isn't so much of an issue (?) as it does go back eventually it just its not just his penis, if you can try and picture , its like the whole penis PLUS what ever else the penis is attached to! How it all goes back I don't know! I have seen him do it and I suggested taking a picture and then showing the vet but my nephew said that sounded wrong!! I think she will have to as obviously he won't perform at the vets. Other than that he is a very healthy and happy dog so I guess there is nothing to worry about - Just seems wrong to me and not very nice for anyone visiting to witness

I don't think it would be over the top to take a picture and show the vet. Just in case.
