Raw - am I doing it wrong?

Just been nebbing on the threads (not had internets for ages!) and it's got me thinking.

Raw is supposed to be really complicated?

All we are doing is feeding Oscar 2 "prize choice" frozen blocks a day, with an occasional Nature's Menu wet food pouch when we forget to defrost.

Am I doing it wrong?

Re: Raw - am I doing it wrong?

If I remember correctly, isn't Prize Choice just meat only? To be balanced it needs to be 80% meat/10% bone/10% offal.

Check out the raw feeding sticky, also LexiLou's Raw Feeding Diary which is another very good sticky.

I'm about 6 weeks into feeding raw. Poppy is having Raw to Go's mince for brekkie (that is balanced 80:10:10) and for tea she has one of the following - chicken wings/drumstick/thigh/other chicken portion with bone in/sardines/chicken meat chunks/mackerel. I've just got some liver and kidney so that I can add a small amount in with her tea so I can keep the balance right.

Re: Raw - am I doing it wrong?

Prize choice do do complete blocks, these ones

Natural Dog Food and Natural Cat Food| BARF diet, Raw dog food, Natural Pet Food, Real Meat and Treats, Frozen complete blocks

If it's these you're feeding, they're not complete.

Just looked at the ingredients list of the PC Complete, it doesn't mention bone?????????? OP, you'd need to make sure you include bone for other meals, crunching bones is good for dental health.
