FAO Golden shadow

Rupert

Ideal weight 30kg
600g per day

So total consumption of food each month is 18.6 kg. Say 19kg

Of that 19kg
1.9kg needs to be offal
of that 1kg needs to be liver
say 20% tripe 4kg of tripe
remaining 13kg is meat and bone

Using landywoods

for now I would order half as mince
half as bones

Product Amount Total Weight Cost

Liver 1 2.27kg £2.00 2 months
Kidney 1 2.27kg £2.20 2 months
Lamb tripe 1 9.08kg £6.40 2 months
Minced lamb 1 9.08kg £10.40 2 months
Chicken wings 2 4.54kg £6.80 2 months
Turkey wings 2 4.54kg £6.80 2 months

This is without meaty lamb bones or goats milk, also I would advise some heart somewhere along the line but you can think about that later

Re: FAO Golden shadow

Infact for more variety you could get rid of one of each pack of the wings and get a pack of heart and a pack of turkey necks instead.

Nope I'd rather him have lamb mince as the wings/necks will all be turkey and chicken. Would only want to try beef offal as opposed to beef mince as there is less of it if he doesn't get on with it

Re: FAO Golden shadow

I have just decided I think I'm going to start him on 500g, his metabolism isn't hugely fast

He will get goats milk/a kong of Nature's Harvest before bed each night and some veg to bulk it out, I could really do without him putting any fat on needs to be muscle so I'm thinking start him easy?

So faffing about with numbers I get:

Rupert Raw Food Allowance

500g a day

10% Bone 10% Offal (liver 5% kidney 5%) 20% Tripe 60% Meat

On a WEEKLY basis:
3.5kgs food
350g bone 175g liver 175g kidney 700g tripe 2100g meat

*4.3 (weeks to equate one month)
= 1505g bone
= 752.5g liver
= 752.5g kidney
= 3010g tripe
= 9030g meat

Lamb Tripe 454g x 20 = 9080g = 3 months supply
Minced Lamb 454g x 20 = 9080g = 1 month supply
Kidney 454g x 5 = 2270g = 3 month supply
Liver 454g x 5 = 2270g = 3 month supply
Turkey and Chick wings 454g x 5 = 2270g x2 = 4540g
Turkey necks 454g x 5 = 2270g
Meaty lamb bones (15)

And I'm stuck on whether to add more wings/necks or lamb mince or both...

You're gonna tell me to do 600g now

I would order a bit more of both
ALso I would start on 600g because you want him to put On weight, but its easily adjusted if you change your mind.

You gotta be less caught up on the bone thing, because it'll just boggle your brain

Good to put in them meaty bones, wonder how big they will be

Alright fair do's re order more of both.

Thing is I'm worried about him putting on weight Strictly speaking as he is he's OK, if he gets muscly he'll put a bit on. He needs so little of the F4D compared with feeding guidelines and the same of Nature's Harvest I'm a bit worried 2% of his ideal weight might just make him fat Will have to mull it over, I think I'd buy the quantities I listed because even if it doesn't last for three months because I up it, its in the right ratio vaguely? And then I can compare it with yours

Does all your Dog Food Company stuff come frozen? Bit worried of it being intended to come frozen from Landywoods then actually being defrosted and basically useless. If I order and it gets here not frozen solid I wont take it...

It sucks, Dog Food Company man is good but the pork thing is a bit ahhhh as is his beef tripe.

RawToGo is a bit expensive but lovely variety but no lamb tripe again.

Landywoods look good not huge variety but lamb tripe, sound like they have crap delivery and CS though

*SCREAMS*
