Frogs

I hqve just found my 17 week old puppy with a dead frog/toad, in her bed. I don't know if she was eating it or merely playing with it. Husband threw it away pretty quickly. I do not know how long this had been dead as it didn't look fresh to my husband, so will this be likely to cause her any harm? I have something in the back of my mind that says it might be.

Re: Frogs

I think it's toads that can be harmful.

If she's eaten any there would be part of it missing. Did your OH check? Probably the most would happen is pup would be sick but phone your vet if worried.

Re: Frogs

No he didn't check to see which it was. She seems fine but will keep a watch on her. Don't even know how it must have got in...we have a pretty secured garden (walled) except just where the gate is. No ponds or anything.

Re: Frogs

Toads are less common than frogs. My puppies eat all the frogs they can find. They've not been sick from it.
