Unusual pee

This morning I woke up and my dog (1 almost 2 years old male) peed all over the house, which is weird since he usually waits until I let him out in the morning. The problem is, the urine was kind of brown (not really yellow) and there were a few blood drops.

His poop is healthy and so are his eyes, now he's out in the yard playing with the other dog and barking at people as usual.

If it helps at all I had a barbecue last night and he ate a lot of leftover meat.

Re: Unusual pee

Sounds like he might have a Urinary Tract Infection - this can cause them to not be able to hold his bladder like usual and can have blood in it.

I'd get a urine sample (not as easy as it sounds ) and get him down to the vets tomorrow morning. A course of antibiotics usually clears it up.

In the mean time bear in mind he might need to toilet more frequently and be understanding if he pees inside
Dally Banjo, SixStar and Alvert like this.

Re: Unusual pee

Very helpful answer thank you.

I'll get the antibiotics tomorrow as soon as the vet opens.

You cant just get the antibiotics! You will need to make an appointment and take your dog plus a urine sample and the vet will then decide from the result of that whether the dog needs antibiotics.

I would get him to the vet to get him checked out, if the urine looks brown plus you can see drips of blood it needs checking out as soon as possible.
You do get blood in the urine with infection, but usually its not that noticeable unless he has a really bad one. I would take a urine sample with you too.
