Yes we dont have exact on the hour set times for breakfast and dinner, this depends on the walking times (which vary a bit each day), and then feed either before or after the walks and leave at least an hour between feeding and walking.

Re: How Do I Get Charlie Down from 3 Meals a Day to 2?

I reduced our cocker by dividing his three meals into two. I also introduced a bone/treat midday to make up for the meal that he was alledgedly missing out on. The words rod/back/own spring to mind but then since neutering our cocker is extremely food orientated.

Thank you everybody for your replies. Sorry if it was a bit of a dumb question but I didn't know if I should reduce gradually over a number of days or just stop dead. Thank you.

Just watch his weight though, if he starts to get a bit porky and puts on too much at any time then you will need to adjust the quantity, and maybe even put him on the next life stage, ie puppy to junior (if they do one) then adult.
When they are growing they burn it up, but when they are slowing growth, or finished then they sometimes need the quantity adjusting. So just be led by his body condition.

Hi, yes thanks I will do. I will increase his breakfast/dinner gradually as he does have a sensitive tum and I don't want to go back to runny poos and then anal gland problems. He is not as lean as he was but I know a lot of Cavs are overweight, and that can only be the owners fault for over feeding but yes, he is a greedy guts!
