Darling's Food

My vet is very much into nutrition and recommends raw where possible. I cannot go fully raw as Kilo comes to work and also we go here, there and everywhere. However, the vet discussed feeding raw sometimes and sticking with what I feed at present (Barking Heads and Nature Diet) for other times.

She uses this company for her own dog: Real, Raw, Organic Dog Food Supplier - Home and gave me one of their leaflets / brochures.

Does anyone here use the company?

Re: Darling's Food

I haven't used them myself but have seen a lot of posters say they use them and are very happy with the quality of the meat.

Thank you; it is lovely to have a vet so interested in nutrition who doesn't try to sell you anything too .

I like their ethics and the product range is good but there is no way I could afford their prices

That was my main thought; have sent the 'quick quote' form off but Kilo is 35Kg already so will be pricey! The vet did say even just the bones are good to get.

I would never go back from switching to raw out of choice and meaty bones are a good idea.
I feed all three of mine on raw for £1.50. They weigh 45kg between them
But I doubt what I get is organic

Re: Darling's Food

One of the vets at our surgery is a big raw fan and they sell James Wellbeloved out in reception. They have never once mentioned it or tried to get me to buy it. They know I feed raw as it says on the notes.
I agree with Babycham2002 on the Darlings, it looks great but I couldn't afford it.

Re: Darling's Food

If you're interested in raw you could consider Ziwipeak, which is essentially dried raw. You can get it dry which is like jerky, or wet (I brought some tins the other day but haven't tried it yet).

I feed it to Kenzie because I'm interested in a raw diet but can't go completely raw because I have neither the freezer space nor the confidence.

It IS expensive, but you feed very little of it as it's so concentrated. When I worked it out for Kenzie it was about the same price as feeding Orijin. I also feed things like egg, fish, was planning on doing chicken until it disagreed with her.

Just thinking this might be a thought if you wanted to ditch the Barking Heads/ND.
