Re: Raw feeders please

mine have tinned pilchards or sardines once a week, normally buy a big tin and that does them breakfast for all three of them. Normally buy the one in tomato sauce as they seem to like it.

Poppy weighs 5.3kg and she gets tinned mackerel or sardines once a week.

Take it out of her daily allowance, it is her tea time meal. As I am now feeding mainly raw she has mince for breakfast and I work out how much is left of her daily allowance to decide how much mince she gets. This week I added a small egg and some of the crushed shell too. Makes for quite a sloppy meal so only put half the egg in with the sardines and left the other half in a dish for a treat later.

Also do you buy the in tomato sauce variety? Or is that just me?
I did once but can't say I was that keen (Poppy ate it fine). I now have the olive oil variety, drain off the oil in the can and pat some of it off the fish. I might buy some in brine and wash/pat dry before I give them to Poppy. Depends what's on offer when I do the shopping.

Re: Raw feeders please

Creatures get a big tin (same size as soup) between them as part of their tea once a week or so. Pups will eat raw fish like whole mackerel but I tend to chop them with my trusty scissors or Bear swallows them whole! they get anything that's cheap/reduced.

The tomato sauce is fine unless the dog has arthritis, tomato exacerbates symptoms.
