Re: Lungworm

Advocate given monthy will protect your dog from developing lungworm. It says it treats it, but as I understand it stops the parasite developing inside your dog, much the same way as any wormer prevents infestation I guess?

Re: Lungworm

My understanding is that Advocate kills lungworm. Because you give it every month, the lungworm will be killed before it has a chance to become a problem, but it doesn't actually prevent it.

Re: Lungworm

No wormer prevents anything, they all only treat. Wormers aren't like flea spot ons, where you can give them to prevent any nasties in the first place, they only deal with what (if any) worms are all ready there. A dog could be wormed on a Monday for example, and then pick up worms again on the Wednesday.
