Re: taking my puppy for a walk??

There a rule saying '5 mins per month of age' until mature.

3months- 15 mins
4months-20 mins
Etc etc..

But this is only for on lead walking. I don't count off lead playing as they are not being 'forced' to walk, they can go at their pace.

This is just my opinion, obviously it doesn't work for everyone.

Re: taking my puppy for a walk??

And the 5 minute rule is for the whole day, not per walk, so if you want to take her out more than once a day it needs to be two short ones.

I didn't stick rigidly to this but I did use it as a guide. You need to be careful of their joints especially with bigger dogs. No stairs either.

Good luck with the first walk as outside is a very scary place.
