Last week I had to take Moppet to the vets as she seemed to have a urine infection he put her on a course of Synulox antibiotics poor girl started scratching and then I really thought she was going to die she was so ill after taking about 4 tabs, but I still thought it was the urine infection but she then collapsed and we rushed her to the emergency vet and it was an allergy to the antibiotics if I had kept giving her them she could have died,he"s changed the tablets but I really am scared of giving her them

Oh dear, what a worry for you. Poor Moppet, thank goodness you didnt continue giving them to her.
Hope she gets better really soon

Dont be afraid to give her the other tablets. My OH is allergic to penecillin so gets an alternative and is fine.
She still needs to get better so will need them. Just keep a close eye on her but Im sure it wont be necessary x

How frightening. There must be a homeopathic alternative?
How is she now?

As Mum2Heidi says, there are many alternatives in terms of antibiotics. Must have been frightening though .

Have you tried the alternatives?
I too am allergic to penicillin amoxicillin and the like but can take the alternatives fine although they can take longer to kick in sometimes

Thanks everyone it took about 2 days for them to get out of her system,I have given her the new tabs thank goodness she"s back to her old self
