Re: Dog insurance

Don't use Pet Plan, Amber is 10 years old and we are pay £37 a month plus we have to pay an excess of £110 and 20% of each bill, at her age we can't change to another company.

It's silly we don't pay that on our Mercedes "not showing off" but you would think the car would cost more.

Re: Dog insurance

that isnt bad really some insurance policies wont insure a dog over 7 all I can say is read all the small print with these policies there are an awful lot of exclusions on all of them.

Re: Dog insurance

I'm worried that the increase in pet insurance in the UK will put the price of vet's bills up; I know in the USA the insurance companies put pressure on the vets to increase their charges and it's understandable that vets go along with it.
Are there vets on the forum or has anybody heard from their vet that charges will increase...

Re: Dog insurance

Pet lifetime Cover is essential if your pet were to develop an ongoing condition such as diabetes or arthritis which can be quite common. These conditions would require treatment year after year. Our Gold Standard Policy cover will give you up to £2000 cover on a "per condition, per year" basis. That increases to £4000 if you take out our Gold Super Cover to a maximum benefit of £6000 per condition per year with our Platinum Super Policy. So if your pet is diagnosed with an ongoing condition in year one you will get the same amount of cover for that same condition the next year and for every year thereafter as long as you renew your policy.

Re: Dog insurance

I have cat and dog insurance. Someone said not to use pet plan but i've been with them for ten years and find them ok. They are dear but they cover for life and i only pay an excess i don't have to pay any percentage.

Re: Dog insurance

Hi. I have got pet insurance through Sainsburys, I have an eight and a half yr old cross bitch and pay £18 per month, however before this year I was only paying £11.00. I have made a lot of claims and the premium never increased till this year, only had one hiccup with them changing the terms without telling me, but other than that I have been impressed with them.
Hope this helps.

Re: Dog insurance

I have never had dog insurance.

I am wary of the small print, no point paying monthly for years only to find it does cover the problem your dog has. I prefer to put the money away in a separate bank account.

I'll take a look at the link though Mark, thanks.

Sue
