Puppy Eating Less

Our 10 weeks old Yorkie pup has been eating less the last few days (he was wolfing down food before then) - we wormed him at the end of the week - do you think it could be his system is now "clear" and so he needs less? He leaves food in his bowl which he would never have done before.

(PS His poos are better too - he was very soft and sticky and irregular before, now he is "normal" and going after each meal!)

Re: Puppy Eating Less

He might not be hungry.

It depends on how much you give him, how often and when really. If he seems healthy, is a good weight, and has good poo...he's fine.

Re: Puppy Eating Less

I take it you had a diet sheet with your pup ?

He should be on 4 small meals a day until 12 weeks and then bring him down to 3

what are you feeding him on

Re: Puppy Eating Less

Dogs are some times good if they are full they sometimes leave what they dont want in there bowl. Have you measured what your pup is having throughout the day it will give you a total as to if he has had enough for his age, size etc. They dont all eat as much as it recommends on the packet

When you are working out how much he eats don't forget any training treats you give him - it all adds up.
