Re: How do you stop your dog drinking wee???
Sorry but this is a very common thing i think its like a message service from dog to dog. They get a lot of info by doing this. As to how to stop it well i dont think it will do any harm mine has done it .more so when he was younger. i have heard of this a few times from other dog owners.

Re: How do you stop your dog drinking wee???
Sullivan is right. Dogs do pick up a lot of info. on the other dog by drinking their wee. It is perfectly normal.
Vets. someone n another forum I use was told by her vet her bitch puppy had a hernia. It didn't have a hernia, it had a willy and was a little boy. ![]() |

Re: How do you stop your dog drinking wee???
It's just one of those things. My male dog always wants to know where the girls have been but it only gets serious when they are coming into heat and then he tries to lick it from the grass. Usually he just pees over it himself, probably to stop other males knowing there are females around.

Re: How do you stop your dog drinking wee???
Wow, what a strange vet? lol.
I see dogs doing this kind of stuff all the time (licking each others bits) and I've seen a dog go up to another dogs puddle of wee and lick it up... it's not nice to us I know, but I think it's normal for dogs to do this. |

![]() Vinnie has two ball like lumps under his chin in his loose skin which the vet told us was an infection due to him drinking wee, picking up germs etc. Our other Bully, the bitch, has an ingrowing tail and gets frequent infections in it. We have spoken to the vets about having it removed and due them all being young they have never done an operation like this before or dealt with an ingrowing tail so they keep telling us they will get back to us and Im still waiting. Our last conversation with them was at the end of June and they still havnt come back to us. I want to change vets but Im unsure what the Insurance view would be on that? We are insured with Pet Plan, would they be happy for us to change vets if we have an ongoing claim with them? Pet Plan is another gripe I have, we pay over £80 a month dog insurance for 2 Bulldogs!!! Its gone up from £30 a month to over £40 each. Again, I want to change insurance but is it difficult to do that when your dog has had quite a few claims? ![]() Last edited by Bulldoglover; 04-09-2008 at 07:40 AM.. |
