Re: Vets First Check Up

I was a little shocked at the time and didn't really think about it till afterwards. I have had some time to think about it now and prepare myself for next time I go back (tomorrow). I did ask about his eyes and the vet said "They are a little runny but they are not that bad". I guess that means there is nothing major wrong but it still didn't really help explain why his eyes are runny? Hair, eyelashes, yeast infection etc etc? Should I leave it treat it? Will it always be like that or will it go away etc etc? I will see what happens tomorrow and what the bill comes to and let you know.

Re: Vets First Check Up

As a breeder I strongly recommend buyers to have a vet check of the puppy within three days of collection and if the vet finds that it is 'unfit for sale' in anyway I will take it back and give a full refund. I would expect that the vet would point out to you any problems so you can go back to the breeder if necessary. It may just be a communication issue with the vet and you, but bear in mind you are the client and it's your money, so go elsewhere if you are not satisfied.

Re: Vets First Check Up

I got a free check up when I took mine for their first injections.

Duke's booster is due on Friday he will get a check up including eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, hips, legs, abdomen, heart and they check the length of his claws. Its going to cost £26.

I always check him myself before we go. One of his teeth never came through with the others and other tooth is chipped. Last time we went the vet commented, good job too that's what I'm paying for.

Re: Vets First Check Up

some vets dont do injections on the first visit.....but you should have had a full check up.....ears eyes and everything else ...this ensures the pup is healthy and starts life on a good step

Re: Vets First Check Up

Buster had his irst injection yesterday and was very well behaved! Didn't effect him at all and he carried on as usual afterwards. He is getting much better in the car too. We too the cat for his booster and the toal cost didn't seem that bad. I am not sure if they charged us for a check up or if they check up they did do was just part of the pre injection checks. The invoice is in the post so I will see what it says on it.
