High protein content is only bad whenit comes from a low quality (inappropriate) source. Most commercial foods draw a proportion of protein from grains which is a low quality source. Orijen draws it's protein content from high quality meat.

Re: Orijen pet food...

hi. just about to start feeding my dog raw agen and want to carry on feeding orijen to, but dose anyone no if the vits and mins are syphetic or not because my dog had a bad reaction to burns dried food (fine with the tins) but i am not feeding burns anymore. i think this is cas the dried food has syphetic vits and mins and the tins only have natural ones. yeh it made her very itchy red like rash on her belly so we throw all the burns dried out still getting rid of tins as she fine with them for now

Re: Orijen pet food...

Just out of curiosity is the Orijen in the UK manufactured there or over here. Orijen's main plant is here in Alberta and is locally sourced. The plant is really clean as my hubby has delivered to them. Whenever he deliveres anything close to a dog/ cat food plant I have him check it out and report to me.They also make a food called Acana which is a step down from Orijen but is very good. My dogs didn't do well on Orijen but do great on Acana...Jill

It all comes from the same place. Acana is a good food too, although not grain free as I remember but it's not available over here.
