Fuciderm gel cost?!

Hi,

I took my 6 month old black lab to the vet today for spots on his chin. I was charged £40 for 40g of fuciderm gel? I thought this was a lot of money? Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

Re: Fuciderm gel cost?!

It's £11.49 for 30G here Fuciderm - Chemist Direct - at that rate it would be better to pay for your vet to write a prescription and buy it online.

Re: Fuciderm gel cost?!

Sounds a rip off, *but* was that the charge of the whole appointment? Mine charge £25 as a consultation fee anything else on top.

At our old vets I got charged something like £53 for consultation fee, shot of steroids, shot of something else, 10 days worth of antibiotics and the tube of fuciderm.

Thanks everyone, think I may call them tomorrow to confirm. It was only £33 for his jab! Not sure it's right. Better get him insured!

Re: Fuciderm gel cost?!

Fuciderm 15g 7.75 30g 13.15 from vet-medic. These are prescription though so to order on line from any vet pharmacy you would have had to get a vet prescription to send which can be up to 10.00 depending on vets.
