Collie health advice please

Billy is 13, a male and my life long pal, he needs to lose a bit of weight, his back legs are not to good so extra walks ect are out, he has a lot of fat lumps too, but he is not to over weight,, what can i do.

Have you thought about swimming him? I mean in a proper pool. not in a river, works a treat with dogs who have joint problems and in need of losing a bit of weight!!

Swimming is great for getting/keeping them fit & mobile we take Banjo once a week to the vets for hydro its a tread mill in a big tank, he loves it though & is much better for it. Maybe look at his food to a less active one may be

Try and get some weight off him - not good for arthiritic joints. My oldest collie is on Gro-well 'Joint Aid'. Hydrotherapy pool twice a week would also be very good.
