chewing gum on paw

My dog stepped on a small wad of chewing gum today and it is firmly embedded in her front paw.
Any ideas how to remove this?

Ave u tryed putting some ice on it??? i know if ya get gum on ya clothes ya put it in the freezer and it drops of easy....maybe if ya put some ice on it for a few mins at a time it mite make it go hard...put the ice in a food bag so it dont make her paw wet.

thats all i can think of apart from maybe carfully cutting away the long hair around her foot. ( if she has any that is )

i've heard that if you get it in your hair to put peanut butter in it but have never tried it, however the dog may just lick it off so no harm done.
