Re: Notes from the grooming table
there are loads on ebay att he moment! its a fab book but it does miss a few breeds pet trims out so may be worth buying some other books like all breeds. but look out for sue's training dvd's they are amazing! although some breeds take ages to master like snauzers and unfortunately no one has come out with a brook or dvd explaining the beard proeprly yet which is what im trying to do att he moment!

Re: Notes from the grooming table
Thanks for that - I will take a look. It's Lhasas that I'm looking for primarily - not much DVDs around for then - I do have one but shows you the clip quick short - I like them to look a bit longer. Good luck with the snauzers

Re: Notes from the grooming table
the best one for lhasa's is the all breeds dog grooming as they have a specific part on drop coat styles which is what they come under. there isnt much variety inthe notes fromt he grooming tail. they have too styles show style which is the long versain or the clipped version.
with all breeds they show you the teddy bear cut too which is slightly longer but to be honest best way is practise as shitzus and lhasa's are hard to get perfect because they vary in coat and shape. for example one might have pure strait thick coat which is like a poodles to shape and then youl get a thin furred wavy coat which no matter what you do it just doesnt sit right in certain styles. go and have a look on google pictures and type in lhasa's and find a cut you like and email me on shellinch@hotmail.com and il explain you how i cut it.

Re: Notes from the grooming table
Thanks so much that would be great I will do that. I know what you mean about the differences in coats I have 2 - one of them is so thick and almost whoolly(wanted to keep him long at first but the poor guy was getting brushed everyday for quite a while and on top of that still had knots forming). I used to dread bathing him as he took an age to dry and by the end of it my arms were killing holding a hairdryer and brushing. The other is the complete oposite takes no time to dry and very smooth, if he gets dirty its not a problem as doesnt take long to dry at all.
Will be in touch, thanks |
